Solomon Rino is a playwright and scholar, with a BA in Writing and Literature from the California College of the Arts, and MA in English Literature (with an emphasis on Samuel Beckett) from the University of Reading, England. He co-authored the ethnography Deity Men, Rebgong Tibetan Trance Mediums in Transition (Asian Highlands Perspectives, 2010). He translated the final poems of Miklós Radnóti in A Wiser, More Beautiful Death, and collaborated with Dennis Letbetter on a series of artworks, Toward a Human Face (Editions Michel Eyquem, 2011). With Cameron Cairney, he published the artists’ book Fritters (Editions Michel Eyquem and The Epoptai Press, 2015). With Colin Partch, Rino co-edited the journal Second Stutter from 2017-2022, publishing the most important contemporary poets and translators in the world. He continues to edit Second Stutter, preparing single author publications of major contemporary poets. He is currently Poet in Residence at the Saint John Coltrane African Orthodox Church.
